FAQS

What are home study traffic school programs?

Home study programs are an option for you to satisfy the traffic school requirement after receiving a traffic citation.

Who says I can do traffic school at home?

Speeders Network is a Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security licensed four hour (DDC4) traffic school program that is approved by the jurisdictions listed on our website.

Who may take a home study program?

If you received a letter from TDOSHS for a speeding ticket you are allowed to attend this program once every four years, including individuals with a commercial driver's license. This will prevent the points from the citation from being added to your record, however the citation will remain. If you intend to or have already completed a traffic school program for the same citation at the court, do not utilize this program as there would be no benefit in attending a program twice for the same citation.

What is the difference between the Speeders Network and regular traffic school?

They are very similar with respect to the material covered. The main difference is that with the Speeders Network you can study on your own, at your own pace, as time is available to you. It is completely at your convenience and you can work on it at any time, day or night rather than having to work around someone else's schedule.

How much does the course cost?

Speeders Network is priced competitively. Only $30.00 covers all program costs. TDOSHS allows the certificate of completion to be printed directly from the website after completion for you to sign and submit to TDOSHS. You will also be able to print out a confirmation of completion for your records.

How do I pay?

We accept Visa, Mastercard or Discover. The easiest and fastest way to go is to pay with a credit card online via our secure website. You can also phone in your credit card information after completing the course.

Do I have to wait for my payment to clear before I take the course?

No, but your certificate will not be issued until your payment has cleared.

Is any classroom attendance required?

No. Your classroom is in the comfort of your own home.

What if I don't have an email address?

You should have an email address before registering for this program because you will receive important emails from our website regarding your registration, your payment and your certificate of completion. If you do not have an email address you can get a free email account at http://www.gmail.com.

What if I don't have my own Internet access?

No problem. We have had many students take the course at work, at a friend's computer, or even at the library. Any Internet access will do.

Once I sign up, what do I have to do to complete the course?

It is comprised of five lessons, each followed by a five question review. At the end will be a final exam comprised of twenty five multiple choice questions. Answer the questions at the end of each lesson and you will be informed of which questions you answered incorrectly, and then given the opportunity to correct those answers. Once all questions have been answered correctly, you will proceed to the next lesson.

After I complete the course, will my citation be dismissed just as if I had gone to a regular classroom traffic school?

In the state of Tennessee, eligibility is determined by each individual jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are eligible to attend our program prior to your registration. As long as you are eligible to attend, your payment clears and you complete the course in accordance with the requirements, and submit the certificate to TDOSHS in a timely manner, the TDOSHS prevent the points from a speeding ticket from being attached to your record once every four years, although the citation will remain..

When will my certificate of completion be sent?

You will be able to print out both your certificate of completion and the confirmation of the completion once you have completed the program as long as your payment has cleared.

Jurisdiction: Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security
TDOSHS allows you to print your certificate of completion once you have completed the course and your payment is cleared. You are required to sign and submit the certificate of completion to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security by whatever manner they allow. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY RECEIPT OF YOUR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION WITH THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY IN A TIMELY MANNER. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FEES/FINES.

What if I don't pass?

Our program is completely interactive. The only way you can fail is by not completing it.

I've been to a regular traffic school within the past two years. Can I take the Speeders Network Program if I've received another ticket?

Yes, however you can only complete the TDOSHS traffic school program once every four years, only for a speeding citation, and only if you receive a letter from TDOSHS allowing your attendance, including individuals holding commercial driver's licenses. Completing this course will prevent the points from the speeding ticket from being added to your record, however the citation will remain.

If I take your Internet course do I still have to pay the bail/fine amount on my ticket?

Yes. You are responsible for paying any fines or fees that are assigned by the TDOSHS. Those payments are strictly between you and the TDOSHS.
